Low Income People Involvement of Nipissing offers supports not offered by other programs to individuals & households who are homeless or at risk of being homeless.

Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative (CHPI)

DNSSAB CHPI Client Benefits Program provides assistance to households experiencing homelessness and at-risk of homelessness by providing direct benefit support and Homelessness Prevention Navigator services. If you are without a home, struggling to pay your heating costs, mortgage or rent Community Homelessness Prevention Initiative may be able to help.

Through this program, you may qualify for assistance with costs such as: first / last month’s rent, utility arrears to prevent disconnection, utility deposits and moving expenses.


If you are on Ontario Works or ODSP please contact your case manager who will assist you with your application.

We will complete an in-depth needs analysis that identifies the current housing and financial status of the household and the short-term and long-term interventions and resources required to stabilize the household.
